bIrThDaY bOy!!!!

My sweet baby boy is now 1 year old. It makes me so sad to see him growing up so fast but it is fun to watch him change and develop. I can't believe how much my life has changed in the past year. I feel like I am a completely different person. My life revolves aaround motherhood, which is not a bad thing it is just very different. I would not trade the past year of my life for anything, I love my son more than words can say. Our baby is doing many things nowadays here are a few:

-walking, walking, walking....everywhere
-baddles non stop
-has 4 teeth
-can sign milk, more, please, eat, cracker, and baby
-says mama. dada, baba and starting to so no (ugh)
-weighs 24lbs and is 30in long
-loves to carry around my soft winter socks
-knows what he can and can not play with in the house
-loves to play with toilet water (ew)
-loves bath time but we're working on not standing up in the tub
-gives and blows kisses but only when he wants
-loves eating anything, but especially desserts
-started throwing tantrums ( not excited about this)
We love him so much and are blessed to have him in our lives! Here are some pictures from his birthday party....

bitter, bitter, bitter

The first picture is a picture of the food that I have been eating for the last couple weeks, and the second picture is a picture of the food my husband gets to eat!. I am SO bitter that my husband and many other people in this world get to eat whatever they want and never gain a pound. I am bitter that I was not blessed with this amazing gene. Michael and most of his sibling (SARAH haha) are so lucky! They can eat anything, ANYTHING and not have to worry about gaining any weight. I love my husband and his family but I must admit I am a little jealous. I hope that my children are blessed with Michaels metabolism and not cursed with mine. I just needed to vent so for the bitterness. On a lighter note, I have lost 11 pounds and my goal is to lose about 50 more. I know that I have a long way to go but I am proud of my progress.

e.r.

Last night Mike and I headed to the emergency room. For about 2 days my back had been killing me making it really hard to breath. I also had a really sore throat and an ear ache on the right side. Late last night the pain started to get worse and I developed a fever of 103. I was on the fence about going to the hospital because we don't have any health insurance, therefore, it was hard to make a decision on whether or not to go. But as my fever started to rise Mike and I decided it would be a good idea. When we got there they took us back pretty much right away but we waited in the room for quite a while to see a doctor. After the doctor came in and checked me out he decided to start an IV because I was dehydrated. He has swabbed my throat to get it tested for strep and mono. Another nurse came in and put some medicine in my IV for the pain. The doctor came back and said I have an infection in my throat (not sure what it was called) which caused an infection in my lungs which is why my back was hurting so bad because my lungs were inflamed. He but some medicine in my IV for my nausea and for the inflammation, which made me really sleepy and I slept for about an hour. The medicine was amazing and made the pain feel a lot better so the gave me a prescription and sent me home. Today I feel a little better but still have some pain in my back ribs. Im a little upset that we needed to go to the doctor because we don't have insurance, but you do what you have to do. I talked to my mom and she was worried that it might turn into pneumonia or bronchitis so we didn't want to risk it. Hopefully with the medicine I will start to feel better and won't have to worry about this again. Also the doctor told me that I needed to get my tonsils taken out because I have had a sore throat multiple times this year but, I am definatly going to wait until I have insurance for that!

sick little lainharts

Well, it all started about 2 weeks ago when Logan developed faucet nose. Faucet nose is a constant runny nose in which needs to be wiped every 2 minutes( which he absolutely hates!) I took him to the doctor to make sure that he didn't have any other problems and the doctor said he just had a cold and it we had to let it run its course. I was reveled that it was nothing more than a cold, but after faucet nose for a week and a half Logan was not getting any better. He had developed a cough, fever, was ultra clingy along with the runny nose. So I took him back to the doctor, this time we found out that he had an ear infection, a sore throat, a cough, a cold and a diaper rash that turned into a yeast infection. Poor baby I felt so bad for him. The doctor prescribed us some liquid antibiotics, and some cream for the yeast infection and I have already noticed a difference in him since he has been taking the medicine. So gladly he is feeling better, but me on the other hand not so great. I think that I caught what he had. For the past 2 days I have had a sore, red throat, stuffy nose, my ear has been hurting, and a cough. And on top of all that my back hurts worse than it has ever hurt in my life and I have no idea why. It hurts in my back ribs when I breath, it hurts to stand, it hurts to walk, and it hurts the bend over. For most of my adult life I have had lower back pain but this is different. If anyone has any idea what it might be or how I could make it better I am open for ideas. I am so glad that Logan is slowly starting to feel better but who is going to take care of me???? I NEED MY MOMMY!!!!

lainhart family update

Mike: Well we are so excited because Mike finally got a second job! He actually got his old job back. In January of 2008 Mike was laid off of his job at Boise Cascade and there started our hard times. Ever since he got laid off we have really been struggling with money and just barely scraping by. But thanks to our family we were able to get through those hard times. Anyways, Mike got offered his job back at Boise Cascade and he was so excited. So now he is working and Lowes and at Boise and he is so busy. The first week of working 2 jobs he was working 11-12 hours a days. Its bitter sweet because I am excited to have more money coming in but I can also see how burnt out he is at the end of the day. But he is a trooper and would do anything for us. On another note, Mike is in the process of trying to join the Airforce. I was not thrilled about this decision at first but now I think it is the best thing for our family. He has already taken all the preliminary exams but since his eyesight is so bad they had to send it to the Sergeant General to be approved. So now it is just a waiting game. If his eyesight gets approved we will take the next steps to joining and then he will be off to basic training. If it is not approved the Lord must have something else in mind for our family.

Logan: He is almost 11 months old and I can't believe how fast its gone. He is all over the place. He is walking around the furniture and crawling like a monster. He loves to eat and loves to try new things. He is the joy of my life and I love to watch his personality grow each day. He has started to jibber jabber a lot, he'll talk to his toys and to mike and I. He is so mellow, like it is amazing. I can leave him in his room to play and he will play with his toys forever. He is so low maintenance and it is amazing. We are excited to start planning his first birthday and can't believe it's already been almost a year. We love him!

Me: Well I am still working 5 days at the gym and I love it, although when we were in California with my family I had no desire to come back, but we do what we have to. On Monday Mike and I got a Golds Gym membership and I am so excited. I have been to the gym 4 days in a row so far and I am really proud of myself. I have realized lately that I am really depressed about my body and I am not happy about the way I look. I t has really been a struggle to get the baby weight off and now I think I have the motivation to actually start losing weight. We'll see how it goes. We got a visit this week from Mikes mom LaDawna and it was awesome because she was so helpful. She helped watch Logan while I had to work and I really appreciated having her around. On other news, Mike and I have been discussing baby number 2 but dont get too excited. I told him that I need to lose weight before we even try for another child. I just have to feel good about myself and I don't want to keep adding on the pounds. So it could be a few months or it could be a years. Hopefully it won't take me too long to lose the weight so it you have any helpful hints let me know. I love my little family and I am so thankful for the life I have.

Lake Time!!!!

Every year my family goes to the lake and this year Mike and I were able to get the time off of work to meet them at the Lake. We drove 14 hours in the car and finally made it down there and we were thrilled to take off and go to the lake the next day. The lake was awesome, we were there for 4 days and it was SO hot! We went wakeboarding, skurfing, body whomping (i'll explain later) , tubing, laid off, and played games. It is so fun to spend time with my family because we live so far away that we never really get to see them. My brother, sister-in-law, and niece Emily were able to come to the lake also which was cool cause the live in Boston now. After the lake we headed back down south to my parents house. We spent a few days down there and went shopping and to the beach. This was Mike and Logan's first time at the California beach but it was so crowded that it wasn't really that fun. I was able to see my Grandma Connie and spend sometime with her. We got our nails done and she informed me that my hair really needed to be done so she paid for me to re-highlight my hair, got to love grandmas! Overall we had such a blast and cant wait for lake time next year!
