Lyla Van Dusen

My niece Lyla Van Dusen was born October 24, 2010, weighing in a 7lbs 10 oz. She is so adorable and defiantly has the Van Dusen cheeks. I cant wait to meet her at Christmas time.

Lazy, lazy, LAZY!!!!

I am have no excuse for not updating except for the fact that I am lazy. So much has happened in the past 2 months I don't even know where to begin....

Starting with Logan, he is such a joy to have in our home. He is practically running now and we find he has been falling a lot and getting random bruises but I guess that is part of being a kid. It makes me sad that he is growing up so fast but it is good to see him learning new things each day. He has 6 teeth and they are super cute. He can say mom, da da, no, and go. Also when you ask him what a cow says he says, "aaamoooooo" He is very independent and stubborn like his mommy and will only do something if he wants to. He has started throwing little tantrums if he doesn't get what he wants but don't worry we are not letting that happen. He loves watching signing time, and mickey mouse club house. He will eat pretty much anything now. He's been eating all real food for about 2 months now, no more baby food (yeah!!!) He is at such a fun age and I love spending everyday with him.

Michael, has been busy on the job hunt again...UGH!!! Its a long story but he got a full-time job working at a cosmetic lab so he quit his 2 part-time jobs and a week into working at the new job they laid him off, so we were both pretty bummed. So he has been job searching everyday but there are just not very many options. He has also been doing a lot of hunting, but hasn't seemed to get anything yet. If it was his choice he would spend everyday of his life hunting. The Air Force turned him down because they said his eye sight was too bad, so he is talking with the Navy now. All he is waiting on it approval on his eye sight and if he gets it then he is in. We should find out within the week if he gets in or not. He is really excited and thinks the military is the best option for us right now. I on the other hand am not so sure.

As far as the Military goes I am afraid of being alone and worried that he will miss out on a lot of Logans childhood. But I want to be supportive in his decision. We still need to pray about it a lot more and make sure that this is the right road the Lord wants us to take. Anyways, I am still coaching and I love it so much. I sometimes feel like the girls I coach are my daughters, they are all really important to me. Competition season is coming up and I am getting excited to travel with them and see how they do at meets. I am also taking the judging test in December so that I can starting judging gymnastics to make some extra money. Mike and I celebrated out 2 year anniversary in the beginning or October by going to Salt Lake. We dropped Logan off at his grandparents and headed to Salt Lake for a fun filled weekend of food and a trip to the amusement park Lagoon. We had a great Halloween and it was really fun to take Logan now that he is a little older he had more fun. Mike and I got called to teach the 14-18yr old Sunday School class at church and actually its not as bad as I thought it would be. It is really rewarding because the kids we teach are so awesome. I love being a mom, I love my job, I love my husband, and I love my church. We are really really struggling but I have a lot of things to be grateful for and I know things will turn around for us.

Pictures of the last few months to follow soon!
